ATV Resources web pages launched on OCEDC Economic Development and Tourism website
The Oconto County Economic Development Corporation (OCEDC) announced the launch of a new feature on the economic development and tourism website, www.ocontocounty.org that features ATV Resources in Oconto County. The site has links to Oconto County ATV clubs, a downloadable and printable map, calendar of ATV Club events, a Discover Wisconsin television show about ATVing in northeast Wisconsin, and other information designed for the ATV community. Persons visiting the site are also able to email a request for a free ATV map of Oconto County trails and routes that recently was produced by the Oconto County Forestry Department using a grant from the DNR for development of the map. A response format is also included that will allow persons that ride the trails in Oconto County to assess their experiences and make recommendations on trail maintenance, safety and their overall experience on the Oconto County trails and routes.
The ATV Resources pages are a collaborative effort of the Oconto County Forestry and Land Information Systems departments, ATV clubs in Oconto County, and OCEDC. The site additions were co-designed by OCEDC and Brandon Miller of Webman-Designs in Gillett. During the design phase, a number of ATV enthusiasts and members of the Red Arrow Snowmobile ATV Club, Gillett Rail Riders, and the new Oconto Area ATV Club were involved in the design and functions of the site.
Brandon Miller of Webman Design commented that “the design of the site takes into consideration the needs of ATV enthusiasts” He also stated that “we set the site up with an editor function that allows OCEDC staff to edit and update the site, calendar of events, and graphics from any computer that has internet access so we can assure immediate response to changing trail conditions or the needs of the ATV community”.
Internet access to the Oconto County ATV Resources pages is one click from the ATV icon on the OCEDC’s economic development and tourism website www.ocontocounty.org or from the web pages and sites of any of the cooperating ATV Club sites.
